I proudly served our military from 1953 to 1955 in Ford Ord, Seaside, CA as a U.S. Army Educational Specialist, 6th Infantry Division.
I was very active during my educational career in areas such as teaching high school Latin, English and Music at Menlo-Atherton High School, Atherton, CA. in 1956, General Education at Quincy High School in 1959 and administration and Superintendent of Plumas County Unified School District until retirement in 1986.
I have strong community service spirit as a Life Member of Lions Club International; past scout leader; member of the Feather River Dixieland Jazz Band in Quincy, CA.; Musical Director of the 2006 Gold Nugget Days Melodrama in Paradise, CA.
I am married to my wife, Joanne and we have one son and two grandchildren. My interests include music, photography, computer and word processing, maintaining facility with hand guns and rifles.
Joanne and I have lived in Paradise for eight years. Although having lived in Quincy for twenty-seven years, we are very familiar with the Ridge and the Upper Sacramento Valley.
I am pleased that the membership has elected me to the Executive Board of the Paradise Rod and Gun Club, Inc. It is my purpose in that role to recruit additional membership; enlarge Club activities, including a formalized gun education and safety program for the youth; and, finally, attain for the Club a solid and predictable financial position. To achieve those ends I will contribute those organizational skills I possess with enthusiasm and commitment.

Gene Keel
I am a native of San Jose California. I have lived up and down the West Coast from Santa Barbara to Seattle and East to Salt Lake City and Tucson Arizona. My wife Barbara and I have four children and seven grand children. Early in my working life I was a tool room machinist for Varian Associates in Palo Alto and later as a manufacturing engineer for National Semiconductor. I retired from the Hospital Products Division of Abbott Laboratories in 2001 as manager of Manufacturing Engineering at the Morgan Hill facility and moved into our home in Paradise at that time. We enjoy traveling in our motor home with (and without) the grand kids.
For as long as I can remember I have always been involved in hunting and fishing as time would allow. I have been reloading rifle, pistol and shotshells for 45 years and I thoroughly enjoy all shooting sports on an informal basis but have never had the time, patience or desire to be a serious competitor. I also enjoy archery hunting.
I am a NRA Patron Life Member and club Range Safety Officer. When I joined the Paradise Rod and Gun Club it was obvious that the club was in a re-start mode and there would be ample opportunities to contribute to the growth of the new club and make new friends in the process. There has been a lot of progress at the range in the past year and I plan to contribute what I can to see the trend continue.

Stephen Grubb
I was born at East Garrison, Fort Ord, California, in 1944 while my father was serving in the training cadre at the post. Since East Garrison no longer exists, I have long since adopted Salinas as my "hometown". I grew up in Oakland and graduated in 1962 from Castlemont High School.
My father was a lifelong shooting enthusiast so at an early age I caught the same bug. By the time I entered high school I was a member of the NRA and the school's rifle team. In 1963 I entered active duty in the Army and returned to Fort Ord for training. Being a seasoned shooter by the time I entered the service, I fired top score in my training company with the "new" M-14 rifle. I have had a love affair with that rifle ever since and now proudly own one. While stationed in Germany during my tour of service, I was fortunate to be able to participate in various shooting-related events, including visits to the local German shooting associations (shooting against some of those German marksmen was a very humbling experience!)
Upon my return from the Army I went to work for Pacific Gas and Electric Company, got married, and entered college three nights a week. I'm the proud father of two grown children and three grandkids. I graduated from Saint Mary's College in Moraga with a degree in business, after 37 great years at PG&E I retired in 2003 as a Materials Superintendent.
My love for the shooting sport continues unabated to this day. Although my hunting days have tailed off somewhat in recent years, I still enjoy just getting out as often as possible with friends to whiff the sweet aroma of burnt gunpowder. I feel very fortunate to have a club like ours so close at hand where I can regularly get my "shooting fix" and visit with the many great folks that make up the club.
