Paradise Rod and Gun Club Inc. Fishing Report

This is the fishing report as related by Art Raynor at the September 18th general meeting.

Lake Oroville--Almost everyone knows the lake level is very low. It is down to 38% of capacity with very difficult launching, if any. About three weeks ago there was only single lane launching at the Bidwell launching facility.

Paradise Lake--Even at this lake the launching is difficult or maybe by now non-existent. Last week if you launched your boat at launch site 1 you had to walk through the muck to get to it. The lake is about 65% of capacity. You can still walk along the East perimeter of the lake and fish the shoreline, but about 6 feet from the waters edge is slippery mud. Some of the mini trails leading to the waters edge are semi-steep so you might want to take a staff with you for balance.

Sacramento River--Strippers are being caught about five miles up river from the Hwy 32 bridge launch site.

Free Fishing Day--September 27th is a free fishing day. All regulations apply, except you don't need a basic license.

MAGIC HOOK REMOVERIn the past, Art has demonstrated to the membership the "Magic Hook Remover". Art states that he has used it quite a bit in the last several years, for himself and others. He claims that just be following the easy instructions, that the fish will just fall off the hook. He has released very deeply hooked fish with only the hook shank showing. This tool will only work with single hooks.

The SHOOT OUT HOOK REMOVER sells for approximately $8 plus shipping and is available from: Rainbow Plastics Co. PO Box 1861 Fort Collins, CO. 80522 970-493-4189 www.rainbowplastics.com

This page is devoted to both the predicted and honest-to-goodness verified fishing realities as presented by Art Raynor, the Paradise Rod & Gun Club Inc. Fishing Chairman. Art is always out and about finding all the good info for the fisherman in our group. He reports this information at our monthly meeting. But now through the power of the Internet, our good ol' boys (and girls!) can get the latest info on where their bitin' and where they ain't! The next report will follow the February 2007 general meeting on the 18th...unless Art finds out something really neat! You may E-mail Art Raynor here.
